Missionaries. Is this our actual life now?

Missionaries. It’s hard to believe thet is our official new “job title. If you had asked me 5 years ago if this was something I would ever do the answer would have been a hard no. But when we align our hearts with God’s heart for his kingdom He starts working I miraculous ways. We got to the point where we couldn’t imagine life any other way. Good keep t teaching us and growing us and shaping us specifically for this role.

We’ve worked so hard to be here but prayed even harder. We didn’t know how or when. We simply knew that God had laid this on our hearts. It was like an itch we could’t scratch. No matter the obstacles, no matter the delays it was always on the forefront of our minds and our hearts. How could we stay in the comforts and conveniences of Canada when this country was so strongly laid upon our hearts. A country with great beauty and great need. We aren’t saviours, but we can help point to the one who is. Jesus. All for Jesus. He gifted us in ways we can help, he uniquely shaped and sanctified us. Prepared us for this mission field. He gave us hearts for orphaned and vulnerable children. He gave us a team of senders. Our church and individuals who got behind this call, this vision. We couldn’t do it without them. They are as much a part of this as we are.

As we adapt to this new country, this new way of living, these new responsibilities and burdens we praise God for being with us every step of the way. We praise Him for breaking our hearts for what breaks His. We left behind treasured family and friends, a home and a family member whose health is failing. There is so much we miss and wish we could be there for, but it’s not what God has for us and we accept His plan for us no matter what comes. We submit to His will. This life calling isn’t easy but we know it’s worth it.

God will give you the desires of your heart when He is the one who puts them there. Let Him always be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path and say YES to what he lays before you. Wait on Him and His timing because His ways are always perfect. He is sovereign, trust Him. Be bold and courageous, stand firm in your beliefs no matter what and remember life here on earth is nothing but a wisp of time compared to eternity.
